Answer to a reader's email

Someone sent an email to Tulsa Topics recently and asked me the million dollar question....

Q. Why do you do a website predominantly about Tulsa politics?

A. That's a good question. I'm glad you asked that question and the answer is:

Bob Dick
Bob Parmale
Bob Poe
Bob Lorton

Things that make you go hmmmmm.....?  If your saying to yourself "what does that mean" then continue reading.

What is common about the list of people above?  All their first names or nicknames are Bob.  My name is Bobby.  I thought it was about time a "Persistent Naysayer" named Bob or Bobby stepped up to join the grass roots movement here in Tulsa.  Hopefully this will help counter the negative effect on the name Bob the aforementioned group has had.

Moral for the story:  Never ever vote for someone named Bob.... unless it's me.... and I'm not running for anything.

Seriously, I have quite a few reasons for running a somewhat political website, but there's more to this website than just politics.  If you have some time, check out my pictures that I take around Tulsa in the

Tulsa Topics Gallery or Flickr Gallery. Pictures aren't necessarily political are they? When I'm in a more self-reflective philosophical mood, I'll try and post some of my motivations for doing Tulsa Topics. Don't hold your breath though.
