At Large Councilors?

The Citizens' Commission on City Government had their first meeting on January 13th at the Civic Center. Speakers that addressed the newly formed commission included -

  • Former City Councilor Robert Gardner

  • Professor and Former Mayor of Tulsa Roger Randle

  • Secretary of the State of Oklahoma and Former Mayor Susan Savage

  • City Auditor Phil Wood
Although I didn't attend the meeting, I had heard that all four speakers spoke out against councilors at-large and this was confirmed by one of the commission members via email to Tulsa Topics. The member also mentioned there was a Tulsa World reporter in attendance at the meeting.

What I'm wondering is why the Tulsa World didn't deem this story as worthy of print. Oh wait, now I know why the Whirled didn't go to print with this story. It doesn't fit their agenda. If you don't know what the Whirled's agenda is on this issue, check out this Tulsa Topics post -

Maybe that's why "They can't give 'em away!" as reported by Living On Tulsa Time. Check it out!
