What a site.
Have to file this in the "can't be real" department. Just looks surreal.

Tell me, old electrician, why did it arc from only one of the three switch legs?

It looks to me that the other two switch legs were dead or cold. As abruptly as the arc ended, I almost think someone threw something upstream of this switch.
