Council Meeting items of interest
There looks to be a few items of interest on the Tulsa City Council meeting agenda. If you live in the Kendall-Whittier neighborhood, you may want to check out item 5a -
5. PUBLIC HEARINGSIf you can't go to the Council Meeting in person, make sure you check it out on T-GOV!a. Public Hearing regarding Resolution amending the Kendall Whittier Neighborhood Urban Renewal Plan modifying the Relocation Plan, Financing Plan and Acquisition Maps. 00-638-6
This might be of some interest as well. Basically it's trying to encourage investment, development, and economic growth by giving the Tax Increment Financing District a break on property taxes. I'm probably over simplifying this, but I think it's how it works.
b. The first of two Public Hearings on the Resolution approving the Tulsa Hills Tax Increment Financing District, located at approximately 71st Street South and Highway 75, for Local Development Act financing. The primary purpose of this hearing is to provide information and to answer questions regarding the proposed project. The second hearing will be held at 6:00pm on February 23, 2006 in the City Council Room, Plaza level, City Hall. The purpose of the second public hearing will be to give any interested persons the opportunity to express their views on the proposed plan. (Neal) 05-910-5
