In the "What are they doing now" department

(Update: More information has surfaced (as per usual) in this stranger than life fiasco. Apparently one of the Republican Candidates for Dist 6 City Council endorsed Justis in the 2004 City Council Elections. I'll make it really easy on you, it wasn't Jim Mautino. See if you can find who it is by clicking here. I'm beginning to think this is a classic case of back scratching!)

Have you ever wondered what people do once they leave the public eye? Take for instance ex City Councilors. Some become highly paid employees on the Mayor's staff (Bird & Roop). Others become County Commissioners and Mayoral candidates (Miller). Some even have aspirations to become City Councilors again (Patrick).

In the news we hear a number of stories about actors and actresses that have fallen on hard times or have gone on a path of self destruction. Just like the entertainment industry, the political machine has their share of hard luck cases. Take for example a City Councilor who was at his prime in the Tulsa GOB political machine. A City Councilor making sure that Tulsa's well-oiled, politically favored machine ran "business as usual." A City Councilor that had no plans of ever becoming an EX City Councilor, but destiny played its hand of fate and he was ousted from public service. In this edition of Tulsa Topics' "Where are they now," we take a closer look at EX District 6 Councilor Art Justis to see what he's doing with his time since being stripped of his Councilor duties.

I've heard that the Tulsa Police are in possession of a report (2006008422) that has all the juicy details. I guess when your District 6 campaign is in trouble, you'll resort to desperate measures to achieve your ultimate "wannabe" goal. Since Public Works is already tasked with removing Mayoral candidate signs, good sign-removing helpers are hard to find.

Hat Tip to Roemerman on Record for breaking this story!

Oh for goodness sakes. Everybody is guilty of removing campaign signs illegally posted on public rights-of-ways. If the candidates would stop showing their complete disrespect for the law, TRO 51 3102.16, we wouldn't have the Election Sign Wars. In fact, I am on the hunt today for Corkinator's illegally placed signs today. I need one for my yard. And, there's no law against citizens picking up trash on the public rights-of-way. Is there?
