PDF Documents at Tulsa Topics

Tulsa Topics uses Portable Document Format (PDF) files for most documents that are posted on the website. Unfortunately some readers have been experiencing problems reading the documents that I have been generating lately. Fortunately there is an easy fix to the problem; downloading the most recent version of Adobe Reader.

The PDF's are generated using Adobe Acrobat Professional v6.0. The "newer" versions of Adobe Acrobat allow the author to note and highlight text in the PDF documents and that seems to be a problem if you don't have an updated version of Adobe Reader (v6.0 or above.)

You can download the latest version of Adobe Reader by clicking on the icon below.

I have had many readers ask, "How do you create PDF documents?" I use Adobe Acrobat Professional v6.0. There is a newer version out, but I haven't seen the need to update my program for now. The Adobe Reader is "backwards" compatible which means the newest version can read older versions of PDF's. Unfortunately the older Adobe Reader versions can't read newer generated PDF's, or they might experience some difficulties displaying the document correctly.

Before purchasing Adobe Acrobat Professional, I used a freeware program called PrimoPDF. This allows you to "print" any document to a PDF file. If you are interested in this process, you can visit the PrimoPDF website.

The other day when this subject popped up, I ck'd your susposed errant .pdf. It worked correctly. I use Adobe s/ware to create large amounts of .pdf's & send them all over the world. I find that most complaints resolve when the receipents upgrade their .pdf readers.
