Changes, tweaks, and upgrades.... oh my!

So far, this weekend has been spent doing various web work for clients and making some minor changes on the Tulsa Topics blog. One of the most visible changes is in the upper right hand corner of the page which has the animated graphic "NEWSFLASH" with a link to the most recent entry here on the Tulsa Topics blog. If you don't want to sift through the Recent Read links, all you have to do is click on the link to be magically whisked away to my newest post.

Another subtle change is the addition of the RSS feed for the Recent Read links. If you want to see what I'm reading and deeming interesting enough to add it to my del.icio.us folder, you can always see it by visiting Tulsa Topics, or you can add the RSS feed to your favorite newsreader. The more I use del.icio.us, the more I'm beginning to like it. If you've never heard of del.icio.us, here's a quick rundown for your reading pleasure:

del.icio.us is a social bookmarking service that allows users to tag, save, manage and share Web pages from a centralized source. With emphasis on the power of the community, del.icio.us greatly improves how people discover, remember and share on the Internet.
What's kind of neat about del.icio.us is that it started as a hobby and then bloomed into a an enterprise:
Joshua Schachter created del.icio.us in 2003 as a hobby and an informal way to tag and share Web pages between friends. From that point on, del.icio.us rapidly grew into the social bookmarking service it is today, and in 2005 officially became a company - del.icio.us, Inc.

In December of 2005, Yahoo! acquired del.icio.us and pledged to provide the company with the resources, support, and room it needs to continue growing the service and community.

I rely on this service when I'm away from my computer because instead of adding bookmarks to my internet browser's favorites, I add it to my del.icio.us folder. This enables me to access my bookmarks from any computer that has internet access.

I have some pretty good material to blog about, but it's late. In the bullpen is some audio from the Citizens' Commission on City Gov't meeting that took place on Friday, May 12th. I need to slice and dice it into digestible chunks for posting so it may be a day or two before you see it posted.
